VinFast delays EV deliveries in Europe due to chip shortage

Asian Tech Press (Nov 30) -- Vietnamese automaker VinFast has delayed delivery of its electric cars in Europe due to a chip shortage, sources said.

VinFast has delayed the launch of its VF 8 and VF 9 electric SUVs in Europe from the second half of 2022 to early 2023 due to a global chip shortage.

The company said it is working with suppliers to begin exporting the cars to Europe and Canada in the coming months. And VinFast will start its European deliveries in Germany, France and the Netherlands.

At the 2022 Paris Motor Show (PMS) in October, VinFast presented four all-electric vehicles, the VF 6 small crossover, VF 7 compact crossover, VF 8 mid-size SUV and VF 9 full-size SUV.
