Asian Tech Press (Feb 18) -- U.S. electric vehicle maker Tesla Inc (TSLA:NASDAQ) has revised the Model 3 ads placed on its Korean website.
Tesla has now changed the performance description of the Model 3 sedan on its Korean website, saying that it is capable of traveling a "maximum" of 528 kilometers on a single charge, compared to the previous description of "more than" 528 kilometers.
This comes after South Korea's antitrust regulator KFTC accused Tesla of exaggerating the battery performance of its electric cars sold in the country in its advertisements, and has initiated proceedings to impose penalties.
Yonhap News Agency reported that Tesla's flagship models, including the Model 3, have a reduced range in sub-zero conditions or when driving on the highway, which are not stated on its official website or in advertisements.
After giving Tesla a chance to rebut the claims, the South Korean regulator will make a final decision, which will take several months, sources said.
