Asian Tech Press (Sep 16) -- South Korea approved its first homegrown COVID-19 vaccine SKYCovione for booster shots.

The South Korean government on Friday approved SK Bioscience Co's COVID-19 vaccineGBP510, also known as SKYCovione, for booster shots against the coronavirus.

SKYCovione, the first homegrown COVID-19 vaccine in South Korea, received regulatory approval in the country on June 29 this year.

The vaccine is a recombinant protein vaccine that SK Bioscience developed jointly with the Institute for Protein Design at the University of Washington, and with the support of global pharmaceutical manufacturer GSK plc.
