Panasonic to stop producing TVs in Brazil within the year

Panasonic will stop producing TVs in Brazil within 2021, its factory in the northern Brazilian state of Amazon will stop producing TVs and audio equipment by November.

The plant has been producing TVs since 1981 while serving as a domestic production base for Brazil. About 130 employees are said to be involved and are scheduled to be laid off during the year. The plant also produces microwave ovens and electronic components, and production outside of audio-visual equipment will be maintained. (Nikkei)
