Asian Tech Press (Dec 26) -- Local governments in South Korea are preparing to bid for Tesla's next gigafactory in Asia.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said last month that South Korea was among its top candidate locations for another electric car production site in Asia.

Since then, all major local governments in South Korea have been preparing as potential sites for Tesla's next mega-factory.

South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has gathered information from all 17 major local governments about candidate locations for a Tesla plant and plans to send that information to the U.S. automaker by the end of this year, market sources said.
