Hyundai's Brazil plant to resume production after a 10-day shutdown

Earlier this month, Hyundai announced that its Brazil plant would be shut down for ten days from July 5 to 14 due to a chip shortage.

Production will partially resume today but will not operate at total capacity. Sources say the plant will be operating on one shift per day and is expected to last until July 25.

Hyundai's Brazil plant is located in Piracicaba, São Paulo. It is one of Hyundai's ten plants located outside of South Korea and can produce about 300,000 vehicles per year.
