Apple Pay launch in S. Korea delayed due to local regulatory reviews

Asian Tech Press (Dec 6) -- Apple Inc. delayed the launch of Apple Pay in South Korea due to local regulatory reviews.

South Korea's Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) has requested a review of Apple Pay's terms and conditions, causing Apple to suspend the launch of the app in the country.

According to Korean media outlet Naver, the Financial Services Department of South Korea has revised the terms and conditions of Apple Pay, and said "there is something to look at separately" that requires "further discussions with the department."

Naver believed Apple would delay the launch of its Apple Pay in South Korea until late December or early January 2023.
